Kerry Chikarovski: leader and mentor

Today our guest is Kerry Chikarovski. She is a leader, a mentor, and is passionate about helping people – and as Annie said “she is a total badass woman!”.

Kerry is the first woman to lead a major political party in NSW (she was someone who provided women of my generation an example of a female leader). We had a frank discussion about leadership, how trying is important, and Kerry also shared some great advice on giving things a go and how trying to achieve things matters.

Kerry Chikarovski is the founder and director of Chikarovski & Associates, a government relations consultancy that helps organisations effect change through better policy communication and influence.

Best known for being the first woman to lead a major political party in New South Wales when she was elected Leader of the NSW Parliamentary Liberal Party (1999-2002). As an MP her responsibilities spanned from consumer affairs to industrial relations, women’s affairs to infrastructure. After leaving politics she started Chikarovski & Associates when organisations started to solicit her help to navigate government bureaucracy.
